My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Major Tom has a commanding presence—with his striking looks and confident posture, he catches your eye right away. But beneath that dignified exterior is a total sweetheart. One of his favorite pastimes is curling up for a nap in his cozy wicker hidey hole.

He’s quick to warm up to visitors, often the first to say hello once you’ve settled in. Major Tom loves affection and happily soaks up all the pets you’re willing to give. While he coexists peacefully with his feline roommates, it’s clear that his heart belongs to people—he’s definitely more of a human-cat than a cat’s cat.

If you're looking for a loving companion who enjoys quiet moments and heartfelt connection, Major Tom might just be your guy.

Additional adoption info

You’re interested in adopting? That’s great! We have many eager candidates who would love to meet you! If you have questions, please call us at 208-788-4351.

$150 Dogs (All ages)
$100 Kittens (Under 1 year, second kitten is free!)
$75 Senior and special needs dogs (7+,add'l care or meds needed)
$50 Cats (1 year and older)

We ask all who are interested in adopting an animal to fill out an adoption application. We interview all potential adopters with the goal of placing an animal with the correct family and compatible lifestyle. This is of prime importance – we endeavor to make this new home the animal’s residence for life. All of our animals must be spayed or neutered before leaving our facility as part of our adoption contract.

The adoption fees include spay / neuter costs as well as any vaccinations administered at the shelter. All animals are microchipped and your adoption fee covers the cost of a dog license for all of our Blaine County residents. You’ll also go home with a bag of food and a bag of goodies for your new pet!
