Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Picture this: You’re strolling through the woods, enjoying a peaceful walk, when out of nowhere, a bear cub comes charging toward you! Naturally, your first instinct is to scoop this tiny fluffball up, smother it with kisses, and run off into the sunset together, right? But hold up—where there’s a cub, there’s definitely a mama bear lurking nearby. You wait. And wait. And… nope, no mama bear in sight. After a while, you start to realize that this precious ball of fluff is now your responsibility. Congrats, you’re now the proud owner of a Denali!
This little bear cub is a six-week-old, 3lb male Shepherd mix, and let’s be real—he’s already got more charm than most adults you know. He’s perfectly fine with other dogs because he’s a social butterfly (or more like a social grizzly). While he’s never met a cat or a kid, we’re just going to go ahead and assume he’d be best friends with both. Why? Because he’s a puppy, and puppies have magical powers that somehow make everyone love them, even if they chew your shoes and steal your heart in the process. He plays with his siblings but honestly, he’s more interested in hanging out with the big dogs. He hasn’t had much human interaction outside his foster family yet, but don’t worry—he’s already in love with his foster mom and any attention he can get. Seriously, if there’s one thing this little fluffball is good at, it’s demanding all your love and attention. You’ll learn quickly that personal space is a foreign concept to him.
His energy level is a solid 5 out of 10, which is basically the canine equivalent of a sloth and a koala after their fifth cup of coffee. He’s the perfect mix of lazy and playful—like that friend who wants to go out but also really loves napping on the couch. Denali’s ideal day? A blissful balance of chilling out in his own little world and then getting bursts of playfulness when the mood strikes. He’s quiet, calm, and gentle, like the pup version of a Sunday afternoon. His daily agenda: play, nap, toys, eat, and then do it all over again... unless, of course, he's too busy just being adorably mellow.
Alright, so if you’re thinking about adopting Denali (and honestly, why wouldn’t you?), there are a few things you’ll need to know. First, socializing him? Yeah, that’s a thing. You’ll need to introduce him to the world beyond his comfy little puppy bubble. That means people, dogs, and probably a few squirrels. He’ll be meeting all kinds of creatures, so be ready for some awkward moments where he tries to make friends with a tree or barks at his own reflection. Then there’s the training—because of course, he’s a puppy, and puppies are basically little learning machines. You’ll need to teach him all those things that will help him be a functional member of society, like “sit” and “stay” (because he’s probably going to just stare at you like you’re speaking a different language). Oh, and did I mention potty training? You get to play the exciting game of “guess where he’s going to pee today?” Spoiler: It’s probably not in the designated area just yet. Leash training is next on the list, which is the delightful experience of walking a tiny, excitable fluffball who thinks the leash is a chew toy and walks like he’s auditioning for a marathon. It’s cute, in theory, but in practice, it’s more like trying to wrangle a hyperactive jellybean on a string. And finally, puppy-proofing. Don’t get too attached to your shoes, furniture, or basically anything within his reach. But hey, in return, you’ll get a lifetime of love, snuggles, and the kind of companionship that makes everything totally worth it.
Ready to bring this little ball of fluff into your life? Don’t wait too long, because trust us, you do not want to miss out on the chance to claim this cutie as your own. Fill out an adoption application (yes, you—don’t pretend you didn’t know this was coming) at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app so we can send it over to his foster family and start the process. And just to keep things interesting, you’ll need to pick him up in Oklahoma City, OK—because, why not make a road trip out of it? Denali will be ready to go home around March 22, so mark your calendars, pack a snack, and prepare for the cuteness overload. Trust us, you won’t regret it... unless you’re allergic to joy.
