My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rainier!

This loyal, joyful boy is an American Staffordshire/Pitbull mix, affectionately known as a "Detroit Special." His mom’s a loving American Staffordshire, and his dad might have been a big breed like a Mastiff, Shepherd, or Lab. Whatever the mix, he’s got the heart of a true adventurer, and he’s looking for a family that will love him as much as he’ll love them.

Rainier is perfectly balanced—ready for a run but also happy to hang out by your side. He enjoys running in the yard with his foster siblings or playing fetch with his favorite tennis balls and toys. While he’s ready for some high-energy adventures, he’s also content to lie down and relax, whether it’s on the big dog bed, the kitchen rug, or in his crate. He’s a fan of belly rubs and will shower you with kisses

He is doing really well with potty training, is fully crate trained, and is working on leash training. He knows some basic commands like his name, "sit", "down", "potty outside," and "get in your bed." Rainier is a smart pup with plenty of room for more learning—especially if there’s a treat involved! His favorites are beef, chicken, small bones, and even raw carrots.

Rainier's ideal home is one with another dog similar in personality and a family or individual that’s ready for a mix of both high and low-energy moments and can provide him with the love, playtime, and attention he deserves. He is dog friendly, kid friendly, and although hasn't met cats, will likely do well with proper introduction.

Applicants MUST HAVE AN ADULT DOG in the home! Your adult dog will accompany you during the meet and greet, and will help select the best match based on who gravitates toward you and your dog. When you apply, you’re applying to meet all the puppies in the litter — not just one puppy! It’s all about chemistry!

Adoption Fee: $325, which covers my spay/neuter when age appropriate, vaccines to date, deworming, microchip, and a clean bill of health.
