Casey is a 5 years old male Purebred Persian Cat. His story is such a success! We rescued Casey at the end of December 2024 after we received a plea for help and we immediately went into action.
Casey was painted purple; he was in a holding crate and was slated to be shipped off as “BAIT” for a dog fighting ring. He would have been mauled and killed quickly, but instead he was transported to safety in Riverside, CA. There was an immediate outpouring of help from the general public and a groomer offered to shave off Casey’s purple coat for free. Others gave coupons for food no there were money donations as well. Once we got him, we found that he was infested with fleas, ear mites and internal parasites. Casey had a full blood panel done and he was PURFECT across the board. That being said, there are some negative attributes connected to his breed. He sports the tiniest nose ever ad his breathing is intensified due to this. His gorgeous amber eyes will run and he must eat and drink out of elevated bowls. He creates a lot of noise while eating as there is a backup of nasal fluid that flows if his head is in a downward position while eating. Casey is a kind cat who loves his tummy and face rubs and he will come running with excitement when he is called to eat. It does take him a few second to prepare himself to eat since he is familiar with that discharge that will come.
Casey often lays at the feet of his human and he is not a lap cat nor does he want to be held. He knows his name and it is NOT TO BE CHANGED. His beautiful and unusual eye coloring draws one in and his body coloring, now that his coat is growing out is Champagne and golden in color. The hair at the top of his head still has that hint of purple, a constant reminder of where he was going. He has been vaccinated and will be neutered March 24th.
