Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Biggie Smalls finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our  adoption application  so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .

Believing in the gift of second chances, 10-year-old Biggie Smalls is blooming in his foster home! At a petit 6 pounds, he’s BIG on blankets, whether it’s snuggling in his bed on the couch with his blanket, cocooning in his blankets or being wrapped in a blanket and held by his foster mom. Gaily wagging his tail whenever he sees her, he makes her smile by the way he dances around while he waits for his meals. Friendly and curious, Biggie thrives on being part of the resident “pack” and not only gets along wonderfully with his three doggy foster friends of various sizes, he’s grown more confident, thanks to them, with each passing day. Faithfully following their example, he now enjoys going for walks alongside them, honing his leash skills along the way, and since he’s not a fan of his crate, he’s happiest in the house next to them or to his preferred person. Because he has so few teeth, Biggie loves cheese and all soft dog treats, and being mainly motivated by food and eager to please, is diligently at work on his house-training, wearing belly bands, and using pee pads in a pinch. Now for Biggie to fully bloom, he’s best suited to a loving home with one or more small, friendly dogs and someone there more often than not who will continue boosting his confidence, complete his training, and then bask in the golden glow of his fur-ever loyalty and love.

If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. 

The adoption fee for this pet is $100. Our adoption fee covers the following:

Spay/neuter

Microchip

DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. 

Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.

Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption.

Our adoption process is:

1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet.

2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
