Meet Lilu!

Lilu is an adorable 10-month-old Havanese-Terrier mix ( that is our best guess) who has blossomed beautifully in her foster home. Initially shy and timid, she has quickly settled in and now embraces her playful puppy energy. She has a wonderful medium-energy balance—zooming around during playtime and then happily curling up for a rest.

Lilu gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playing with toys. She would do perfectly fine by herself so another dog in her home isn’t needed. She has mastered stairs and is making great progress with leash walking. Housetraining is still a work in progress, but she’s improving every day. A true little shadow, Lilu loves following her foster everywhere, though she has recently started showing more independence. She is incredibly affectionate, hopping onto laps for cuddles and kisses whenever she gets the chance. She is very much still a puppy and her family will need to have some patience and teach her what toys belong to her.

This sweet girl enjoys healthy treats like apple slices, carrots, and sweet potatoes. She appears to be non-shedding and tolerates brushing well. While she sometimes retreats to her open-door crate for naps, she now prefers snuggling up in the human bed at night.

Lilu is alert and will bark at noises, making her better suited for a house rather than an apartment. She doesn’t like being left alone for long periods, so she would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time. She would be a wonderful companion for a family with kids.
