Our volunteers will not discuss dogs we have available for adoption UNTIL you have an application on file and are approved to adopt.
General Notes | Bighearted Bristol (or Buttercup as her fosters call her!) is the most wonderful puppy - the perfect blend of mellow, sweet, and curious! She is exploratory and smart; already trying to climb stairs and understand how everything works. While her foster sister was sleeping in the car, Bristol was up taking everyting in (she loves the car). She's going to make a great cuddle bug and adventure buddy with her forever family. Her training is in progress and she holds her bladder well and is doing great in her create. Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us. Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.
Personality | Bristol is sweet, curious, and absolutely adorable. She was a foster favorite coming out of Houston due to her wonderful demeanor.
Story | Bristol was rescued with her nine (!!) siblings and mama days after her mom gave birth on the streets in Houston, TX. A concerned citizen noticed their pregnant mama Honey, and immediately put out a plea for rescue. MHLM jumped into action, and a dedicated foster drove over four hours and searched for the family in order to save them. Since her rescue, she has been in a foster home in Houston before recently making her way to Colorado!
Other Dogs | Bristol is in a foster home with her foster sister and has done well with other dogs. She likes them, and is timid but curious! She would do well in a home with other dogs.
Cats | Bristol has not been cat tested, but due to her age and sweet temperament, her fosters think she would do well in adapting to a house with kitties.
Children | Bristol likes tiny humans, and had a blast with them at puppy yoga! This sweet girl would do well in a family with kids due to her adaptable nature and wonderful demeanor.
Training | Bristol's training is in progress. She is tiny but mighty, and is learning all the rules about living in a house and pottying outside! She is working on both crate training and potty training.
Leash | Bristol is still too little to walk on a leash, but will learn as she grows!
Activity Level | Moderate - Bristol is your typical lab gal, with energy, but moments of mellow too!

Thank you! |
Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $525. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog).
Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process.
Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption.
We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!
We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.
