My name is Smokey!

🐾 Meet Smokey! 🐾 This sweet, 2-year-old boy is the perfect blend of affectionate and playful. These days he’s more into playing, exploring, and staying close by your side—though he still loves tummy rubs, head scratches, and being held! Smokey is super playful—his favorite toy is Da Bird, and he’ll leap five feet in the air to catch it! He also enjoys wrestling with his feline housemate and zipping around the house in high-speed chases. Because of his playful nature, he’d do great in a home with another young cat who can keep up with his energy. Older cats might find his antics a bit much, but he means well. He also does just fine living with our 40 lb dog. Smokey enjoys lounging in the catio, watching birds and squirrels go by, and when he’s done playing, he’ll come find you for some snuggles and love. He gives the sweetest hugs by standing on your lap, placing his paws on your shoulders, and rubbing his face against yours. A fun fact about Smokey is that he only has four teeth, two on top and two on the bottom. The rest of his teeth were extracted to treat stomatitis, a painful condition that causes severe inflammation in the mouth. He's feeling much better since his teeth were extracted, and he eats both dry kibble and wet food with no problem! Smokey is currently in a loving foster home through Dallas Pets Alive, getting the care he needs and the second chance he truly deserves.
