All About Me
Hi, I’m Irum!
I’m a three-year-old Jindo mix with a striking brindle coat and an adventurous spirit. Weighing 14kg (31lb), I have an athletic build and boundless energy. My past was tough—I was kept as a farm guard dog, left outside with a tight collar and little care. I suffered an ankle injury from a trap set by my previous owner, but thanks to my rescue, I finally have the chance to find a real home where I can be loved and cherished.
My Personality
I love people. Whether you’re a familiar face or someone I’m meeting for the first time, I’m eager to approach, lean in for pets, and soak up attention. I don’t mind being picked up, and if I feel really safe, I’ll even roll onto my back for belly rubs. I form strong bonds with my favorite humans and like to stay close, always ready to play or cuddle. I have a lot of energy. Sitting still isn’t really my thing—I love to be on the move, exploring, playing, and engaging with my surroundings. Because of my enthusiasm, I sometimes get a little too excited when meeting new dog friends. I’ll rush up to say hello and invite them to play, and if the other dog isn’t in the mood, they might find me a bit overwhelming. A home with a dog that matches my energy would be ideal.
Social Skills
I’m very friendly with both people and dogs. I enjoy meeting new canine friends, no matter their size, but my high energy can sometimes be a bit much for more laid-back dogs. I thrive in active playgroups where dogs enjoy running and wrestling. I haven’t been tested with cats, so my reaction is unknown.
Energy and Activities
I have very high energy. I am always on the move, ready for the next adventure. Daily exercise is a must for me—walks, runs, play sessions, or even structured training activities will help keep me engaged. I love walks, but I can pull on the leash when I’m excited. Sudden loud noises or unexpected movements can startle me, and I may try to lunge or pull away. My future adopter should be mindful of this and help me gain confidence in unfamiliar environments. At home, I can be quite the little interior designer—I have a habit of chewing on blankets and bedding. Providing me with appropriate chew toys and keeping an eye on me will help redirect this behavior.
Training and Habits
I am not possessive with food and don’t guard my meals from people. However, I haven’t been fully tested with other dogs around food, so supervision is recommended during mealtime. I am mostly house-trained and can use both pee pads and outdoor spaces for potty breaks. I settle well in a kennel or crate and don’t make a fuss when confined. Right now, I don’t show signs of separation anxiety, but given how much I love my people, it’s possible that I might develop some attachment behaviors if I’m left alone frequently. A home that can gradually build my independence would be ideal.
My Ideal Home
I need an active home that understands high-energy dogs and is ready to give me plenty of exercise and stimulation. A family that enjoys outdoor adventures, playtime, and training sessions would be a great match for me. If my new home has another dog, they should match my energy level and enjoy active play. I may be too enthusiastic for older or more relaxed dogs. Since I can be startled by loud noises and sudden movements, a calm and patient home that helps me build confidence in different environments would be best.
Special Notes
I am a fun, energetic, and affectionate dog who thrives on interaction and movement. My future family should be ready for an active and playful companion who will keep them on their toes and fill their home with joy. If you’re looking for a loyal, high-energy dog who will always be ready for the next adventure, I just might be the perfect match!
