My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me.

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

Zorito was in the cubby looking out when the door was opened he retreated back inside. He appeared fairly calm, but pulled back slightly from petting, but then begin eating squeeze up treats. Then he allowed petting on his cheek and head and remained fairly calm, slightly wary, and perhaps slightly shy. He's a sweet cat who might need a little time warming up to his new home.

Zorito interacts with the assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. ( Omit if stray/no profile) This cat is suitable for any level of adopter experience.M/p>

A volunteer writes: Though many of our more outgoing kitties love a big splashy and purry hello, Zorrito's known to hang back a bit when meeting new people. He needs a little more time to become his friendly and outgoing self, which is just fine because those seamless first impressions don't come easily to everyone. Knowing that putting himself out there isn't really Zorrito's thing, I wasn't surprised when he slowly inched away from my hand. He loves treats and shows great interest in toys (especially those he can pounce on) but when it comes to that first step of hello, he's not sure which way to go. Or maybe he is and that way for him is in the corner of his little cubby. Zorrito came to us from a home with many other cats and he's working hard to figure out the Care Center. As he travels between his cubby and condo, I can practically see the work he's putting into coming out of his shell. He's hoping to find a family who will recognize and celebrate his efforts.
