My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Evan likes to talk and say hi whenever you’re around. He loves to sleep up high on the cat trees, on the couch, dog beds, cat beds, cat donut, cat play hut, on your lap and chest are preferred places. He loves to sleep in bed right up next to you. He is at an expert level when it comes to litter boxes. He always uses the potty no matter how it’s made. He can use an open box litter pan, a covered litter box, and a litter robot. He always covers his business with litter. He loves toys of all kinds! Toys are his favorite thing in the world, right next to people and getting attention. He loves little balls, springs, toy mice, hair ties, pipe cleaners, small stuffed animals, honestly anything he finds, he can turn into a toy. He likes the balls in the cat track toys, anything interactive and goes crazy for the red laser light. He is familiar and can use the cat running wheel as well, but mostly when you use the laser on it.

You can always tell when Even is around, he is a thumpy walker, and the most precious thing about him is how he asks for love. He rears up for love when you are standing, and while sitting, he will jump up on your lap, and lay down vertical with your arm. He lays his head on your chest and looks at you asking for love. He does give love bites, but they are light and loving. He’s just a sweet baby who loves humans, other cats, and has been raised with a puppy who is crazy. He doesn’t play with the puppy, but allows her to mouth him, and he leaves to a safe place when he’s had enough. He hasn’t been around small children, but I know he would do well. He is a chill guy who is always curious, and brave, loves to play, get love, and learn new things. He can wear a harness and be walked around by leash, he has been in a cat backpack a few times, and can use a locking and non locking cat door. He is ready for more adventures!

Adoption events are held at Petsmart in Corvallis, Oregon. Events will be posted on our website, www.keithaskittierescue.org, and our Facebook page as well as advertised through partners.

All our cats can be seen via a pre-arranged "meet & greet" at anytime.

We do not have a brick and mortar shelter, but we have wonderful, caring foster homes.

More about this rescue

Keitha’s Kittie Rescue was created on August 10, 2017. and became a non-profit, 501(c)(3) on December 27, 2017. We just recently taken another rescue under our wing, Calapooia Critters Rescue and Transport.

The other shelters in the area often require owners to pay a fee to abandon their animal, or overcrowded and not able to take the animal, have the owner make an appointment to assess the animal or there is no local shelter in the community, and sometimes the animals a stray and takes time to adjust before being adopted or they need medical care. Keitha’s Kittie Rescue is all volunteer, foster based shelter.

Volunteers care for the cats and kittens in their homes. Adoption events are also held at Petsmart in Corvallis, Oregon. All money goes for the cats litter, food and medical care.

Our mission is to create a safe environment and find a future home for the unwanted, unloved, forgotten cats that no other rescue will take. We get a lot of injured, ill, and abused cats. Our veterinarian bills are quite high but we do what we can to raise funds and keep our animals in the best health. We NEVER euthanize unless it is extremely necessary. We have a few hospice foster homes where an animal can live out the rest of its days in love and comfort. It is our calling, our focus, and our main drive in life.
