My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

#A5679799 Meet Cookie (GSD), a 1-year-4-month-old Shepherd/Pitbull mix who’s an absolute doll, with the sweetest wiggly booty and the perkiest of ears! She’s got a unique, pretty, look thanks to her mixed breed, and she’s a total joy to be around – playful and fun with both people and other pups! While she’s got wild child energy when given the space, with the right training and structure, Cookie would make the perfect adventure buddy. She’s still learning basic manners, leash work, and other training, but she already knows potty training and basic commands like "sit", plus she's incredibly treat-motivated and eager to please, so she’ll pick up new skills quickly. Cookie loves playing with other dogs in playgroup, enjoying some rough and tumble, push/pull style fun, which could make her a wonderful little sister to any pups you may already have. She’s ready to find her forever home full of activity and excitement, plus lots and lots of love! Are you ready to take this free spirit home and forever brighten up your life?

  • 1 year 4 month old black and brown Shepherd/Pitbull mix

  • 57 pound spayed female

  • Up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today!

  • Came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 2/15/25 as an owner surrender - but we have no notes, and Cookie has been such a good girl, so we have no idea why

  •  Absolutely darling little couch potato with an adorably wiggly booty and the the perkiest of ears

  • Super pretty, with an unusual look thanks to her unique mix

  • VERY playful and fun, with both people and other pups - truly a joy to be around!

  • Wild child energy when she has the time and space, but with the right training and structure, would make the perfect adventure buddy

  • Given her young age, needs some guidance to learn basic manners, leash work, and other training, however, Cookie already knows potty training and some basic commands like sit, and is incredibly treat motivated and eager to please, so she should pick things up quickly!

  • Very good with other dogs during playgroup - incredibly social and engaged in mutual chasing and play, has a more rough and tumble push/pull play style

More about this rescue

United Hope for Animals is a 501c3 non-profit organization committed to creating a world where our relationship with animals is guided by compassion and responsibility. We actively work toward bringing an end to the needless suffering of companion animals through community-based programs here at home and across the border.

The United States euthanizes more than one million dogs and cats each year. Through our Shelter Support Program, we work in partnership with local shelters to reduce this number by raising public awareness about shelter adoption and facilitating rescue and adoption of sheltered animals. In the process, we bring dignity and hope to the many lives that would otherwise pass anonymously through the animal control system.
