My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
KC was brought in by his previous owner on March 2, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
KC is a shy but curious kitty who takes his time warming up to new people, but once he feels safe, he enjoys affection and pets. He craves companionship and loves being around those he trusts. KC would thrive in a quiet home where he can build a bond through treats, toys, and playtime with a wand. He has a playful side and enjoys catnip toys and climbing on cat trees. KC is FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), which means his immune system is slightly weakened, making routine vet check-ups and good dental care especially important. FIV is primarily spread to other cats through deep bite wounds, so we recommend he be the only cat in the home. He also has mild dental tartar, so his future family should be mindful of his health needs. With patience and love, we believe KC will be a loyal and affectionate companion!

At SDHS:
KC has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He is now ready for his new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
