Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Big Pun was brought into the shelter by Animal Control as a stray. He was severely emaciated, literally his skin just hung from his bones. His head was sunken in behind his eyes, his spine and hips protruded, he had lost all muscle mass, he was just a hot mess of a dog. His physical presentation gave the mistaken impression he was a very old dog.
However, Pun was also very social and energetic. In his shelter kennel, Big Pun came running up with soft eyes and a wagging nub when he saw us and was easy to leash. Big Pun came into the eval room with a wagging nub and a trot. He was very sweet and friendly, allowing all handling. The behavior staff described him as a "very sweet baby who doesn't resource guard food despite being extremely emaciated". They shared that "he loves cuddles and is a big baby. He takes treats very snatchy and will jump up to eat it so we recommend tossing them or putting them on the floor. He loves to play and is an overall good boy!" His favorite past time is playing and chasing a ball. It's adorable to watch.
Because Pun was absolutely clueless about manners, we knew he needed help in that area. He had clearly been neglected in every way possible. If any dog was ripe for spoiling, it was this good natured dude. So we had Pun participate in a Board and Train program at Lead Your K9 which is where the photos come from. There are A LOT more pix of him on our website. We did include 1 'Before' photo at the end so you can see the depth of the depravity he endured, yet came out of the experience forgiving and loving.
Older children only who have lived with big, energetic dogs who sometimes forget humans don't want to dance with him or donate their fingers when giving him a treat.
If you'd like to be considered for this big guy, just submit the application on our website, www.kodisclub.org/applications
