My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HOW TO ADOPT: This cat is participating in our Shelter Cat Getaway foster program, which gives cats a vacation from the shelter and lets them enjoy home life while they wait to be adopted. To schedule a time to meet this cat, please contact Mary at mmccarroll@arl-iowa.org or Carol at cgriglione@arl-iowa.org.

---

- A shy, gorgeous, sassy kitty who enjoys being in the same room with you

- She will thrive in a calm, quiet home with just one or two people - too much activity makes her nervous

- Her foster mom reports that as she has gotten more comfortable, she has become quite the talker. She loves attention and purrs up a storm. She is a sweet girl, but does have her sassy side

- Looking for a cat-savvy adopter, who can read her body language, and who will give her time to herself when she needs it

- She LOVES her scratching posts, cat tree, and being way up high!

- Not a good fit for children, and is looking for a home with adults only

- Is interested in small toys that she can bat around

- When you give her attention she will purr loudly and the biscuit making is at top speed

- Stressed around other cats (may be happiest as the only feline - but if you have another cat, a very slow introduction will be necessary to set her up for sucess)

- This cat will thrive in a home with someone who is looking for an indpendent cat to love and care for, and who is willing to give her all the time she needs to settle into her new home

-This cat can be fearful and may need extra time to adjust to a new home. We've seen good progress here at the ARL, but don't be surprised if it takes several weeks for this cat to become comfortable in a new place. This cat may hide and just observe at first - maybe for quite a while - and that is perfectly normal. Young children are too much for this cat right now, so we are highly recommending a quiet, mature home. We are happy to provide post-adoption resources. If you can give this cat extra time, patience and TLC, please consider adopting! It will be so rewarding to watch them gain confidence and start enjoying all the good things in life!

All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age)
