My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Arthur (FKA Hampton #A737089) arrived at Long Beach Animal Care Services on 2/20/25 after being found in a box near the Youth Development Center in Long Beach. He was severely underweight and his coat was so matted that the medical team @lbanimalcare had to shave it off completely. Arthur has impaired vision and hearing, along with a variety of other health concerns, including mucopurulent discharge, severe ear issues, and several dermal masses.

It appears this sweet senior has not had an easy life. At the shelter, Arthur showed signs of severe kennel stress, often bumping into walls as he paced frantically. Due to overcrowding, the shelter was unable to provide larger accommodations, so they reached out to rescue partners for assistance. Thankfully, a wonderful foster stepped up, and we were able to help. Arthur has seen our vet for a full workup, and we are in the process of addressing his medical needs.

If you're interested in being Arthur's forever family once he's fully on the mend, please fill out an application today!

More about this rescue

K9 Kismet Dog Rescue is a foster-based, volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Long Beach, CA. Founded in 2015, our dedicated team has helped to place hundreds of animals in loving, permanent homes.

Our primary mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find loving, permanent homes for homeless dogs, specifically dogs in shelters at-risk of euthanasia and dogs whose owners can no longer care for them. We believe in compassionate rescue when the dog is enduring inhumane living conditions or likely to be deemed less adoptable due to age, health, emotional state, or breed. We ensure that all the dogs we take into our rescue, regardless of individual needs, are cared for with love and compassion for the duration of their lives.

We strive to make a difference in the life of each dog we bring into our pack, and our commitment to each dog doesn’t end once they are adopted. We provide lifelong support to all K9 Kismet alumni should an emergency arise. Once a K9 Kismet Dog, always a K9 Kismet Dog. This isn’t a catch phrase; this is a core value.
