HOW TO ADOPT: This pet is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this pet, please email fosterinquiry@arl-iowa.org.
---
- Handsome, friendly guy who likes people and will greet everyone with a wagging tail
- Loves playing with toys, especially toy balls and durable rubber toys that he can chew on; can be pretty hard on toys so will do best with toys that are tougher to destroy
- Very into treats and enjoys getting them out of his treat dispenser toy
- Loves going on walks and does best with a harness
- Knows sit and has incredible focus when you have treats, so he'd be a lot of fun to train
- Would probably LOVE a home with a fenced-in yard where he can run freely and use up some energy
- Had a great time trying to play with his reflection in his foster home's sliding glass door
- Likes to be near his people at all times
-Has done well in his crate overnight and appears to be potty trained, just remember any dog may take time to adjust to a new schedule and routine
- Could use a little work on manners when he's super excited
- Does not enjoy riding in the car
- Has done well with older children and loved playing fetch with them, but occasionally jumped to get his ball; may do best with children who are old enough to handle his energy
- Has done OK with like-minded dogs but can be introverted and prefers respectful dogs who are not too pushy (dog intro recommended)
All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for age
The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, and not breed label
