My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pretty, a 1-2-year-old spayed female Terrier mix with a soft beige coat, weighing 6.5kg. Her journey to safety is nothing short of remarkable—she was rescued just in time when her elderly owner was about to sell her to a dog meat dealer. Now, she’s looking for a loving forever home where she can share her boundless affection.

Pretty is a social butterfly, showering both familiar faces and strangers with love. She eagerly greets people by standing and asking for cuddles, and if you oblige, she might even playfully tug on your clothes or shoes to get you to engage with her. It’s not mischief—it’s just her way of saying, “Love me more!” She has a particular fondness for men and readily accepts pets from new people, including during grooming. She hasn’t met children under 13 yet, but given her affectionate nature, she’s likely to warm up to them just as quickly.

Regarding other dogs, Pretty is all about fun and games. She enjoys making new friends, always wanting to be the center of attention. She playfully and excitedly barks as she plays, but there’s no aggression—just a big personality! Whether it’s a big dog or a small one, if they match her energy, she’s ready to romp. She can get a little jealous if she’s being cuddled and another dog approaches, sometimes letting out a playful growl, but nothing serious.

She’s indifferent to cats, so she could likely coexist peacefully with a feline sibling with the proper introduction.

Pretty has a balanced energy level—she loves outdoor activities and can keep up with an active lifestyle, but she also knows how to relax after a good play session. She’s an experienced walker who doesn’t pull on the leash and follows her human’s lead beautifully.

This sweet and lively girl is the perfect mix of affectionate and playful. Instead of rolling over for belly rubs, she prefers to keep the fun going, running around, barking excitedly, and even engaging you in a game of tag. If you’re looking for a companion who will bring energy, joy, and plenty of love into your life, Pretty might just be your perfect match!

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.
