My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a community member.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Cowboy, a friendly and charming dog who's ready to find his new home! Cowboy may take a little time to warm up to new people, but once he gets to know you, he's a loyal and loving companion. His gentle nature and sweet personality will shine through once he's comfortable in his new environment. Cowboy appears to be house-trained and enjoys having a clean and cozy space to call his own. He's the kind of dog who may be a bit cautious at first, but with patience and kindness, he'll become a trusted friend and part of the family. Cowboy would thrive in a calm and patient home, where his new family can give him the time he needs to adjust and feel safe. Once he's settled in, he'll be your devoted companion, ready for walks, playtime, and plenty of cuddles. If you're looking for a friendly dog who just needs a little time to trust and bond, Cowboy could be the one for you. Come meet this sweet guy and don't forget to bring a leash and collar!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
