Okay, so imagine the softest, sweetest dog you’ve ever met. That’s Valerie. She’s three years old and kind of big (like 63 pounds big), but she walks really gently and just wants to be near you all the time. If you scratch her belly? Oh boy. You’ve got a best friend for life.

Valerie loves people so much. She’ll follow you around the house like a little shadow and find the softest spot to curl up next to you. She likes other dogs too — her best friend at the rescue is Billy — and even though she doesn’t always play with them, she’s happy to hang out and just chill. She’s met some cats too, and she was really polite after a slow introduction. She's just… nice, you know?

Sometimes she gets a little shy in big groups, but she's super brave and did amazing at a big adoption event where she met all kinds of people, even little kids. Everyone loved her! She’s not a wild dog who runs and bounces everywhere—she’s more of a snuggly, nappy, treat-loving kind of girl.

Oh! And get this—on the back of her neck, there’s this white patch that looks exactly like a smooshed version of Alaska. It’s like a secret little map just for her!

She knows a cool trick called “spin” (she's really proud of it), and she’s very food motivated. Like, she would do your taxes if you offered her a biscuit. She's not so great at “sit,” but who needs that when you're this lovable?

Valerie’s not crazy about being in her kennel because she misses people too much. But when she’s around someone she knows, she’s super calm and happy. She just wants to be loved—and she has so much love to give.
