May came to us when he was a few days old, with her brother and mom, after they were found abandoned in a house after an eviction. May is 16 weeks old and around 4 lbs. we expect her to top out around 10 lbs. She has grown up in his foster home and is ready to move into the next chapter of dog life!
While all puppies are cute, May is especially adorable. She is affectionate, sweet, and snuggly. However, she definitely is a puppy through and through. She loves to sprint around the yard, chase her brother, chew on toys, and wrestle. But if you just need a quiet moment she is happy to snuggle on your lap, or your shoulder, and relax. She doesn’t bark much except when she’s playing.
May is progressing very well with potty training, and is learning a few basic commands. It’s fairly easy, because she is quite food motivated. Crate training is going well too, and she will sleep all night quietly in her crate, as well as during the day if you leave for a few hours. She knows that the crate is quiet time, and she gets fed there too.
May would do great in a variety of households, especially because she is adaptable. She has been learning a lot from his mom and the other dogs and cats in his foster home. She would love to be around other playful dogs or kids, but as with all puppies, watch out for her sharp teeth! Adopting a puppy is a big commitment and she will need continued training and guidance to become a great member of the household.
May is crate trained, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. It will be the new owners’ responsibility to get her spayed when she is eligible, and the rescue will follow up.
If you think May would be a great fit for your family, fill out an application today! Please keep in mind, we do NOT adopt out on a first come, first serve basis. Her foster family will be responsible for choosing the best home for May
