Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Yorkshire Terriers are a perfect best friend for those who are searching for an extremely smart and loyal / loving family dog. Yorkies are famous for their great personalities, their love of being cuddly lap dogs and their fluffy non-shedding coats. This breed is often an excellent choice for those who suffer from allergy concerns.
Yorkies have stunning coats that when healthy with care and great nutrition, will be cottony-soft and fluffy. Quinn will therefore require a lifelong commitment to periodic baths and grooming. With this regimen as well as excellent nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are recommended for longevity and coat care) Quinn's coat will be super-soft, matte-free and shining with great health.
These sweet Terriers are known to love being part of a family. They're extremely engaging with their beloved people and other family pets. Since they require a certain amount of exercise (like all dogs) and love being with their people, if some outdoor fun is the order of the day - count these fun-loving pups in! Once comfortable in her environment, Quinn will enjoy neighborhood walks along the beautiful paths that are a part of so many Colorado neighborhoods...and then crashing on the couch snuggling close to her favorite humans and canines is just about perfect for this sweet girl.
Quinn's sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated. Once she feels safe and secure. Quinn will be a best friend that wants more than anything to be an active part of a loving and respectful family. Initially, Quinn could very well be shy or frightened after her experience in an overcrowded Texas shelter at risk of euthanasia due to lack of space.
Quinn's rescuer had the following to say about this sweet pup: This tiny girl is very, very sweet (just a bit frightened initially) but will settle down pretty quickly when you get to her level and speak kindly and quietly to her. She'll be a great candidate for a dog-loving home filled with love. Active dog-crazy retirees or a calm younger family that works from a home-based office are great choices for our sweet Quinn.
It's clear that Quinn's life hasn't been easy. When I came upon her, she was clearly frightened but SO sweet. I see this fear often in rescue dogs and knew to be respectful and let her come to me. After just a day or two, Quinn decided that she's my new best friend. She's truly as sweet as can be and a complete lovebug. If a spot next to me on the couch (or bed) is available, up Quinn comes to cuddle and snuggle and let me know the level of her devotion. I love this little girl's tiny size and big personality. I have no question that she'll be a true gift to a kind and very loving family. They must be patient and, if they are, Quinn will come around quickly and show her loving personality.
I recommend Quinn wholeheartedly for retirees who are searching for a loving and cuddly new family member! She'll be a loyal best friend who derives her happiness from her people. My life is quiet and I'm home most of the time....this appears to be a perfect situation for Quinn. She's blossoming (it's so wonderful to watch) and trusting me more each day. I'm also teaching her about the leash and that it comes before a great outdoor adventure. She's starting to look forward to our walks and I know, in the future, she'll be over the moon to take these walks to socialize with neighbors and hikes to enjoy the beauty of Colorado.
Quinn would also be a good match for a younger family who works from a home-based office. She'll thrive on the companionship throughout the day and will give back her love and sweetness to her people 1,000%!
Quinn is a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion. Quinn will form firm bonds with her family and learn positive socialization skills through positive reinforcement/ force-free in-person or virtual obedience classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a dog's ultimate behavior and in their relationship/bonding with their people. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior.
Quinn is up to date on her vetting / vaccinations and has been spayed. She has seen a vet very recently for her vaccinations, health exam and interstate health certificate. The vet found that sweet Quinn has a head tilt but that it has no impact on her health. He pronounced Quinn "absolutely healthy" and was happy to sign the health certificate that enables her to transport between Texas and Colorado.
Quinn will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 3/8/2025. Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet, kind and loving best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.
**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Quinn, please be sure to submit our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. Adoption site applications such as Adoptapet and Petfinder don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful for our purposes. We're sorry, but in many circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit a Farfel's adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
