My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there, future human! My name is Violet, and I’m a sweet and playful 40-pound pup looking for my forever home. I’ve recently had puppies (yep, I was a mama!), and now that they’re all grown up, I’m ready to find a family who will love me as much as I’ll love them. If you’re looking for a sweet, agile, and cuddly companion, I think I might just be the one for you.

Let me tell you a little about myself—because, well, who better than me to explain just how awesome I am?

First off, I’m super agile—I love jumping, running, and showing off my fancy footwork! Whether it’s playing fetch, running around in the yard, or just chasing after a toy, I’ve got those speedy moves that make me pretty fun to watch (and play with!). I’m always up for an adventure and a good workout, so if you like staying active, I’m definitely the dog you want by your side. But don’t let my agility fool you—when it’s time to relax, I’m also a cuddle expert. I’m happiest when I’m curled up next to you on the couch or resting my head on your lap. There’s nothing better than a good snuggle after a fun play session!

I’m also potty trained, so no need to worry about cleaning up after me. I know where to do my business, and I’ve got that all down. I’ll make sure to keep the house clean, promise!
Now, let’s talk about chewing. I do love to chew on things, but I promise I’ll stick to my toys and bones as long as you keep them handy. Chewing helps me stay calm, especially when I’m feeling a little nervous. And honestly, it’s just so fun! But don’t worry—I won’t chew on your shoes or furniture (I’m not a troublemaker, I swear!).

Speaking of feeling nervous, I do get a bit anxious sometimes, especially around new people or in unfamiliar situations. I might need a little time to warm up to you, but once I do, you’ll see my true sweet and playful side. I promise that with patience and a little understanding, I’ll be the best companion you could ever ask for. It just takes me a little while to feel completely comfortable, but once I know you’re my person, I’ll be loyal to you forever.

I sleep in my kennel at night, and when my foster humans are at work. I don’t always want to go in it, but I’m working on loving it as my safe, secure spot. I like to lay in there when the door is open, but am a little anxious when my foster mama shuts the door.

I’m from Alabama, and let me tell you, I’m all about that Southern charm! I’ve got a heart full of love and a true appreciation for the simple joys of life—whether that’s playing outside in the sunshine or just curling up for a nap after a good run.

So, what do you say? If you're looking for a sweet, playful pup, I think we might just be a perfect match. I’ll be waiting patiently (and very excitedly) for you to bring me home!
If you think I’m the one for you, I can’t wait to meet you and start our journey together. I promise you won’t regret it!

***FOSTER TO ADOPT***
Violet is in our Foster to Adopt Program because she is not yet spayed. Her spay will be coming up soon. If you are interested in adopting Violet, please fill out an Adoption Application. All medical needs other than her spay will be the responsibility of the Foster to Adopt home. The spay is covered by the rescue and will be through our vets. Once the spay is complete, the adoption will be finalized.

--------------------------------------------

All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption.

Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.

More about this rescue

The mission of Warrior Dog Rescue is to save the dogs that are homeless, left abandoned in shelters, are surrendered by their owners, those that are being abused and neglected, and those that are left wandering. We are committed to providing them the medical care they need, helping them to overcome their past by providing them loving, educated foster homes, finding them their perfect forever home by means of a thorough adoption process, and guiding them on their journey into their new life. They all deserve a “good dog life… every single one of them.”

Warrior Dog Rescue will be a model rescue by partnering with overcrowded shelters that need to make room for more abandoned dogs. We will continue to educate others about responsible dog ownership in regards to safety, spay/neuter, nutrition, obedience, socializing, abuse, and neglect. We acknowledge that we will have a role in this industry to take the lead on providing awareness to others in the community and across the country. Every dog will know what it feels like to be loved till the end of their life.
