This is Ubuntu. She is a young mama who was rescued from the Eaton fire area. She gave birth to 6 darling little pups (5 of which already have forever homes!). Ubuntu and her pups were routed through Baldwin Park shelter to their very own foster home together. Ubuntu needed treatment for her burn scars, but she was lucky and well cared for upon rescue by the Baldwin Park team and now her foster parents. She has minor scaring on one cheek and part of her neck, but her fur is growing in nicely around the scars. In the Zulu language, Ubuntu means "humanity" and can sometimes be translated as "I am because we all are." Her name is fitting for such a beautiful soul of a dog who survived the nightmare of the devastating Eaton fire to continue on stronger than ever with help from others showing the good that can come from humanity when we work together as a community.
