My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Venus is a 4.5-year-old, 12-pound Miniature Poodle with a gentle heart and a shy but sweet personality. Rescued from a hoarding situation alongside 16 other dogs, Venus is still learning to trust new people. She can be quite timid around strangers, but when she’s around other dogs, her playful and curious side starts to shine. A patient and understanding home will help her continue to build confidence at her own pace.

Venus thrives in the company of other dogs and would do best in a home with a calm and confident canine companion to help her feel more secure. She is still getting used to new experiences and will need a family willing to give her the time and space she needs to adjust. While she may take a little longer to warm up, once she feels safe, she is a truly loving and gentle soul.

She is currently working on her leash training and potty training, and with consistency and encouragement, she will continue to improve. Venus is food-motivated, which makes training easier and helps build her trust in new situations.

If you have a quiet home, a patient heart, and maybe a friendly pup to help show her the way, Venus could be the perfect addition to your family!

Adoption fee is: $450

More about this rescue

CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
