Freda is a sweetheart, through and through, in every single way! Immediately upon coming to us, she was a nervous little baby, but shortly thereafter, she's become more and more confident by the day! Freda just loves being loved, in all honesty - mixing in those soulful puppy dog eyes, none of us can get enough of this darling girl! She quickly became a couch potato in her foster home, and good luck moving this lazy bones girl! She handles baths and grooming like a champ, despite not receiving it much before in her life, one would say she now LOVES being a pampered queen! Freda is estimated to be about 4 years old, and about 30 pounds, and while she could use a slight diet, treats are the way to her heart! Freda gets along well with ALL other animals, kids, you name it, though, she prefers her space at time- especially when she's in a more shy mood. Not to mention, Freda had been doing phenomenally in her foster home prior to making her way to us, and that will make her transition into your home ALL the much easier!
Freda is currently Heartworm Positive, however, we're beginning the pre-treatment stages, and she's going to be scheduled for treatment, which we will be covering for any local adopters, willing to make the trip to our contracted veterinarian. With that said, if you're not-so local, but would like your own vet to treat her, that works, too!

More about this shelter
We are a non-profit organization out of Monticello, IA specializing in the care for dogs and cats that need us. Our care does not stay local, as we take transports from all over the United States, and adopt all over as well!
Our mission's primary focus is to help reduce the homeless pet population by finding homes for spayed/neutered pets, and helping educate WHY this process is so important, and the proper way to care for pets!
