Schlatt is a little guy with big love to give! He is approximately 2 years old and a 14-lb dachshund/terrier mix. He is house-trained, dog-friendly and kid-friendly (6+). He has not been tested with cats. He sleeps through the night if he can stay in the big bed with his humans. He likes to hang out in his open crate on his terms but becomes vocal when the crate door is closed so we don’t consider him to be crate trained. He knows "sit" and would love to learn more cues given that he is very food motivated. He has discovered a love for toys, especially squeaky ones. While he doesn’t necessarily need a fenced yard, he is accustomed to one and will need time to adjust to always being leashed for outside time and potty. He is still figuring out leashed walks; his first instinct is to run but he settles in after some time. Apartments/condos with shared walls are not a good fit because his little body can sometimes make a big bark. Schlatt could be an only dog or he would do well with another dog his size to play with. Overall, he is a little sweetie who loves to be on or near his humans and will nudge them for scritches.
