My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

2024-05
Miki
Neutered Male
Young Adult Est DOB 06/26/2024
Black/White
Dutch / Mini Rex Mix
Weight 5.03 pounds

I was pulled from Wake County Animal Control after I was born when my Mother "Angel" was surrendered to the shelter.

Behavior Assessment:
The shelter describes me as a “Daisy” which means that I like to explore, groom, and I will present for petting and may occasionally be seen to flop, binky, or thump. I am not shy and I will rarely hide in a shelter. In homes, Daisies particularly like to be stroked and will often present to a person for petting. Behaviors will be essentially the same in the shelter and home environment. Daises are probably the best rabbit for the adopter seeking a rabbit who will tolerate sitting in a person’s lap and being petted. Daises usually do well with other rabbits and people (including children) because of these laid back personality traits.

More about this rescue

Founder of rescue is employed at animal shelter and rescues rabbits from being adopted by people looking to exploit them as food, breeding, being fed to reptiles, and used for training hunting dogs. All rabbits are placed into temporary foster homes and spayed and neutered prior to adoption. Once they are spayed and neutered they are transported from foster homes to adoption fairs at PetCo on 324 S College Road, Wilmington NC and are publicly shown until they find forever homes. These rabbits are given a second chance to a new family. Please don't buy from a breeder. Adopt a rescued rabbit! We also rescue Chinchilla's too.
