My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hello to GOLIATH, a short-haired, solid black panther male teenager with a heart of gold.  He loves his belly rubbed.  When he’s happy, he’ll roll over and ask for belly pets.  He is a bit clairvoyant, in the sense that sometimes he will suddenly zoom away and leave you in a room with a possible ghost!  But he does get the zoomies from time to time and runs around for no apparent reason. He is a happy cat overall and likes sitting with you on a comfy bed or on a perch watching CAT TV (aka, looking out the window).  He enjoys all kinds of toys, but has a special love for soft ones that he can grab onto.  He is shy at first but doesn’t take too long to get acclimated and warm up. Goliath came to the rescue with his siblings COFFEE and ESPRESSO, and while he would be ok being adopted alone, he would be delighted to go home with one of them as well.  He is looking for a home with a good window perch, and someone willing to rub his belly to his heart’s content.  Could that be you?

GOLIATH has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, is negative for FeLV and FIV, and includes a free wellness visit with our vet partners.  To meet GOLIATH at the Cat Lounge, please fill out an Adoption Application for consideration at catrescues.org/adopt, and an adoption counselor will contact you for a possible meet-and-greet at the Eugene Springfield Cat Lounge, 537 W. Centennial Blvd., Springfield.  The $155 ($280/2 teenagers) adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters are required to complete our application and contract. It is available on our website: https://catrescues.org/forms/cat-adoption-contract/ A paper copy is available at our adoption sites. Our contract stipulates the requirements for care of our pets. The documents are reviewed by our staff and together with a face to face interview we explore the potential new home. If all parties agree to the specifics of the contract the cat can go home. Adoption fee varies with age of pet.
All pets are current on vaccinations, health checked by our veterinarian, have been de-wormed, treated with flea medication at intake, spayed or neutered, and have been microchipped and tested for felv/fiv tested.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to provide care and find loving homes for cats and kittens of our community, with a focus on those with special needs. Currently we only work with Cats. We offer temporary housing in foster homes until they can be placed through our adoption process. We have adoption centers within both Petsmarts in Eugene, at Chad Drive, near Costco, and 29th and Willamette, at Wags Dog Emporium on Coburg Rd and the Eugene-Springfield Cat Lounge. Cat Rescue & Adoption Network works with humane societies, other animal rescue groups, the public and government animal services agencies to offer them relief from their overpopulation problem. All cats in our custody receive the medical care they need. Cat Rescue & Adoption Network is a non-profit organization. All money raised is used to help Cat Rescue & Adoption Network save as many animal lives as possible.
