The following information was provided by Dobbie's foster mom:
Dobbie would do best in a quiet home where he can burrow into soft blankets and snuggle up next to you on the couch. He was quite fearful when he arrived at Harley’s Dream and it’s been a joy and the fruit of patience to see him warm up and relax. He has a lot of love to give and deserves a family who will be sensitive to his needs, especially at the beginning as he settles in. He struggles with sudden movements in his direction and with loud noises, but once he decides to trust you he will reward you with cuddles and love. It’s unlikely that Dobbie will ever be a dog who enjoys outings to new places, he will probably prefer to stay home in his safe space and wait for you to have your fun and return. While you’re gone, he does well in a crate or left out with his favorite dog bed. (Restricted areas are suggested while he transitions – this has been helpful with house training.) He enjoys the company of other dogs and has even started cruising the backyard with his foster-brother to ensure his foster mom is safe from all squirrels! He also loves treats and mealtime and has started to dance around for his foster mom as she fills his bowl! Dobbie is a precious little soul who is hoping to find the perfect family that will provide him with a safe and loving home.
