My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Juniper was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement.

At SDHS:
Juniper has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. Juniper is now ready for her new home!

Why Juniper might be the one for you:
Have you been thinking that a mostly black dog with brown feet might be a good dog for you? If so, Juniper is your dog. She is a shy gal, almost submissive as she wants to please you. She is friendly, soliciting attention and welcoming pets. She walks well on a leash and is easy to handle. She will want some additional good dog training involving positive reinforcement , consistency and boundaries which we have been doing with her and she has responded very well. We can help you with that. She will be better with a dog savvy household, with folks who are patient and committed to her training. She will like space, inside and out, because she is a big and active lady. She will like soft beds around the house for her many naps a day. She will also like the sofa for napping if you are on it. Want to give this lady the love and care that she wants so badly? If so, come to our shelter and ask for Jupiter, your black dog with brown feet.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
