Maple came to TCR over the summer with his littermates and mom, Emma. They all had it rough from the get-go, coming to TCR extremely underweight and unthrifty. Sadly Emma developed neuro symptoms soon after arriving at TCR and was humanely euthanized when she did not respond to any treatments. We were heartbroken and promised Emma that we would take good care of her babies.
Maple is the most friendly of the three kittens and loves nothing more than to lay in laps and make biscuits all over his people. He adores attention despite having endured a lot here at TCR, being treated for ringworm and URI during his time here with us. He gets along well with his littermates Nutmeg and Izzy, and he must be adopted with one of them, or into a home with another young cat that she can pal around with.
Maple is almost eight months old. He has been spayed, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated, tested FIV/FeLV-, and successfully treated for ringworm. The vet believes his mother's illness may have been an aggressive form of FIP. FIP can have a genetic component, which may make Maple more likely to be susceptible to the disease. We would encourage any adopters interested in Maple to educate themselves about FIP - we are happy to discuss this further with anyone interested in him.

Additional adoption info
We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.
Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
