My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Maya, the ultimate bundle of love and energy! This sweet and cuddly girl is bursting with affection and is always ready to share her big heart. Though she may be small, she has a huge personality and so much love to give!

Maya adores people and is always excited to make new friends. She’s still learning how to befriend other dogs, especially the more energetic ones, but she does great with the free-roaming cats at the shelter. She’s also wonderful with kids—though she has plenty of enthusiasm, she responds well to gentle corrections and will happily lay her head on you for sweet snuggles and kisses.

If there's one thing Maya loves more than treats, it's love! She’s happiest when she’s by your side, gazing into your eyes, just waiting to be held and petted. Sometimes, her excitement gets the best of her, but once she settles, she’s the perfect cuddle buddy.

Maya is a smart girl with a big appetite for learning! With some encouragement and tasty treats, she’s eager to pick up new skills. True to her heeler roots, she has a strong drive to play, run, and stay active. On walks, she doesn’t pull but enjoys circling around you, keeping things fun and interesting! Every so often, she’ll pause just to soak up some affection before trotting off on her next adventure.

If you're looking for a loving, energetic, and endlessly loyal companion, Maya is your girl! Come meet her and see for yourself—she's ready to fill your life with love and joy.

Additional adoption info

Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet through the Laramie Peak Humane Society. LPHS strives to provide a hassle free adoption process that provides every adopter and potential pet with the best experience possible. If you are interested in adopting a pet, please submit a complete Adoption Application as soon as possible. Your application must include 2-3 references, and your veterinarians contact information. Once received, your application will be processed, references will be checked, and a home visit (excluding cats) will be scheduled at your earliest convenience.

Please note: The adoption process consists of three steps:

1. Complete Adoption Application Submitted

2. References Checked

3. Successful Home Visit completed (excluding cats)

The adoption process takes 24-72 hours to complete. Applications continue to be accepted, and an animal remains “available” until an adoption is finalized. Animals are placed after all 3 steps are successfully completed.

It is our policy to spay or neuter any dog that is old enough for our vets to alter.

Dog adoption fees are $125 for puppies (under 1), $100 for adults, and $30 for Senior dogs (8+). Dogs come microchipped, vaccinated, and altered.

It is our policy to spay or neuter any cat that is old enough for our vets to alter.

Cat adoption fees are$75 for kittens (under 1), $60 for adults, and $15 for Senior cats (11+). All of our cats are required to be indoor cats, unless otherwise specified.
