My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Boots. He’s a dapper tuxedo male who has two main joys in life; eating whenever he wants and napping on his sun-filled balcony. He loves cuddles when he’s in the mood but likes to hang out in the same room as his owner so if he needs to chat about his day, you’re close by to do so. He’s an excellent alarm clock and will sleep near you as a protector of the night. Although he never minds a soft comfy warm bed (amazon box). He loves getting head and chin scratches and will almost always want his butt rubs while he eats. If you don’t, he will find you and he will demand it. He does not and will not ever like being picked up. Trust me, I’ve tried.

While mostly a chill little man, he loves to chase a string toy from time to time. He also loves his lamb chop toy after it’s been dipped in nip. While he’s been great and patient with his foster brother Bruin, he just might fare better in a home without any other animals or young children. Some loud noises frighten him like big trucks, fireworks and plastic bags. He hates the va-cuum. And he hates brooms.

But I’ll be honest as Boots’s dedicated roommate and full time servant, he has been a joy to live with. He has been really diligent in training me into making his life exquisitely handled and scheduled everyday. He makes sure to show me his appreciation by giving occasional kisses, head bumps but mainly by leaving a belly dent on a couch cushion from all our movie nights. He’s been a great babysitter to his younger foster brother (Bruin) making sure discipline is planted where it needs to be. He’ll make his future family as happy as he has made me.

Boots is 7.8 years old (as of February 2025)

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Here is our Adoption Process:

1. Submit an adoption application at www.thecatsmeowanimalrescue.org

2. If you have not yet met the cat(s) you wish to adopt, come to an adoption event or schedule a foster home visit to meet the cat(s). Please note that we cannot schedule any private foster home visits until you submit an application.

3. If your application is approved, we will contact you within a week to schedule a home visit. One of our experienced volunteers will stop by your home to ensure that you are able to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the cat. We may also provide tips for integrating the cat into your home environment.

4. We ask for a minimum tax-deductible donation* of $225.00 for each cat you adopt from us. Donations may be made online (via a secure PayPal transaction) or in-person via cash or check. If you are adopting a pair of kitties, the donation is $200.00 each ($400.00 total).

*Additional donations are highly encouraged, as they enable us to rescue another cat from the shelter or the streets. Because our organization is a non-profit run entirely by volunteers, we rely solely on donations to continue rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming abandoned and neglected cats.

5. We will have you sign an Adoption Agreement detailing the terms of the adoption at the time you collect your new kitty. You may view a copy of it on our website.

6. That’s it! You will communicate with the cat’s foster parents to coordinate pick-up. Please always transport your cat in a carrier for safety.

7. We will email or mail you a copy of your Adoption Agreement, a letter confirming your donation, and medical records and microchip information. This usually takes about 2 weeks.

In addition to receiving individualized medical care, we provide the following services to our cats: spay/neuter, microchip, testing for FELV/FIV, flea and dewormer treatments, and vaccinations.
