Canelita is absolutely the sweetest girl! She is eager to meet all her new "friends" and will give gentle hugs and a quick kiss when appropriate. She is easy to walk on a leash, curious about her surroundings and all the great smells and sights, but is also happy to sit and relax on a bench and do some "people watching" with you! Maybe you could introduce her to some of your favorite Netflix shows (especially ones with dogs!) and cuddle on the couch together after a long walk or hike in the foothills? She would love to be a forever member of your family!

A team member says, "Canelita is a very sweet, friendly girl. She wanted to say 'hi' to everyone she met on her walk, and if you pet her for more than a few seconds, she'll roll onto her back so you can give her belly rubs. She'd be a great snuggle buddy!"

Adoptions are completed on a first come, first served basis. Please note there may be a wait to meet with a pet, dependent on advisor availability.

Please allow plenty of time to meet your perfect pet. Once you have selected a pet, the adoption process will take at least 30 minutes. We do not begin the adoption process after 5:30 pm.

Animal Humane New Mexico performs a background check on all adopters & does not adopt to anyone who has committed a violent crime. We reserve the right to refuse an adoption for any reason.

Please note, visitors must wear their mask indoors at all Animal Humane locations.
