Hi, my name is Boss Hogg, I am about 1 year old & am a slender 46 lbs. My life before this wasn't great. My owner died when I was young, & I came to the shelter with the two other dogs I lived with, I hadn't been around a lot of people so that was really scary! Then I started to get sick, it turned out to be parvo but I'm a strong little guy & came through it! I've also got a bit of a limp from an injury when I was even younger, but I don't mind, the wonderful TX folks made sure I came to WI where I'm now waiting for a place that will love me just the way I am. I just got here, but here's what they know about me so far. I'm house/crate/leash trained, I'm learning to like toys like stuffies & Benebones. I'm timid with new people, you'll need to be patient while I learn to trust you. I do well in my foster's fenced yard, chasing & sniffing, I like to explore. I haven't met any kids or cats yet. I get along with all dogs, they're my happy place, I trust them to show me what's safe, so I would need a confident dog friend to show me the way. Once I'm comfortable with them, we can run & chase & play, we can have so much fun!! I may not show you who I am when you first meet me, but I've got so much love to give, with a little patience I'd love to be yours! DATCP#483538

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application at rescuegang.org/adopt.
Step 1: Submit an Adoption Application.
An adoption is not considered without a completed application. This step will let us know if your household is what our animal needs to feel safe and comfortable!
Step 2: Background Check, Landlord Check, Vet Check
We will check to make sure that you do not have any violent charges, are allowed pets where you live, and will check with your vet to make sure your animals have remained up to date on testing, vaccinations, and checkups.
Step 3: Meet and Greet
If approved, our adoption coordinator will set you up with the foster parent’s contact information. It is up to you to call the foster parent and schedule a meet and greet.
Step 4: Home Visit
One of our volunteers will come to your house and conduct a home visit with the help of a checklist.
Step 5: Adoption Decision
Rescue Gang will decide if both parties would make a great fit for each other! If so, we can go about finalizing your adoption! Please keep in mind that an approved application does not necessarily mean that you *are* going to be able to adopt the animal you applied for.
Please note:
An approved application means that your have passed the initial screening process and may proceed to the following steps. The animal you are interested in may have more than one application and may have already found his/ her forever home before you are able to meet. In that case, your application will remain active for 90 days
