My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Abner is such a good boy, he will let you put any prop on him and be a good sport about it! He is estimated to be about 3 years old and weighs 41 pounds.

What a silly pup with a fun-loving spirit! Abner (his name just suits him) is connecting, playful, goofy, and full of energy. He's incredibly smart and knows commands like "sit" and "shake", and he's the cutest when he prances while he walks. He loves to put his paw on you to ask for cuddles, and he's an expert at entertaining himself with toys when his human friends are busy. Abner would love an active home where he can run, play and use his nose to his heart’s content, and he'd love it even more if he can have lots of squeaky toys and treats. A basic obedience refresher would be great for him too. If you’re looking for a happy, bouncy friend who is always up for an adventure, please come and meet him. He will need a home where any children are at least 8 years old. Please consider giving this special boy a forever home where he can live his best life.

If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Abner would love to meet them. He has a soft approach with other dogs with an “all in” bouncy play. He does use his front paws to engage, so it may be too much for some dogs.

If you are interested in Abner and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend!

*Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*
