My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you're looking to add some cheesy goodness to your life, meet Babybell!

This sweet girl is extra large and isn't done growing! Babybell is quite shy and fearful but is warming up to us and showing her amazing personality. She will definitely benefit from positive reinforcement training and lots of encouragement. Coming from a large litter, she was raised with lots of other dogs and enjoys having doggie friends so would surely find confidence and assurance in new friends!

She quite enjoys being outside and would love to accompany you on adventures where she can sniff away and check out the world! Babybell is learning how to walk on a harness and leash and will excel in no time at all! Being young, she is still getting the hang of housetraining so that will need to be worked on with her.

This girl still isn't sure about being approached or pet on yet, and hopes for a gentle, and calm home to help her adjust to this new scary world! She cant wait to blossom out of her shell!

Babybell is searching for her perfect match so if you think you're the one, send us an application!

Thank you for your interest in adopting! Do you think you could be Babybell's person? Apply today!

TIP: We encourage all applicants to write a little bit about themselves when prompted. Leaving these questions empty inhibits our ability to make the best match possible and effects the likelihood of receiving a call back.

The Victoria Center is open for in-person adoption viewings Tuesday through Sunday, 12pm to 4pm, staff and animal well-being permitting!

Some animals may not be viewable due to limited shelter space, medical and behavioral reasons, or other contributing factors. Kitten and puppy meet and greets are by application only.

Due to the high number of applications, we will ONLY be following-up with the chosen adopter. If you do not hear back within a week, it's likely the animal has already found a forever home. Phone inquires and emails regarding the status of your application cannot always be prioritized.

Animals cannot be held for potential adopters for more than 24 hours without a legitimate reason.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
