My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Squeek was transferred in from another animal welfare organization on February 19, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Squeek - yes, the spelling is intentional! Her tiny, high-pitched meow is utterly endearing, and she's ready to charm her way into your heart. She is as sweet as can be and loves gentle petting, but can be sensitive with handling, so she is looking for a home without the hustle and bustle of young children. Squeek is currently recovering from an upper respiratory infection, a common and treatable cat cold. She is also FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), which means her immune system is slightly weakened, making routine vet check-ups and good dental care especially important. FIV+ cats must remain indoor-only to prevent exposure to illnesses and to avoid spreading the virus to outdoor cats. Squeek's mild dental disease means she may need extra dental care in the future, but for now, she's just looking for a loving home where she can squeak and snuggle to her heart's content! When you come to meet her, don't forget to bring a cat carrier - she may be little, but she wants to ride home in style!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
