George is a Male New Zealand. He is estimated to be about 2 year(s) old and weighs approx. 4 lbs.
Per Director Analysis:
When we first brought him in, he would hide every single time me we checked in on him.
Now he greets us happily every time he sees us! It truly warms our hearts to see him trust again.
He is a messy eater, but ya know what? We love that for him!
One of our favorite things about George is how often he grunt/honks/screams?. New fruit? Loud grunt/honk. Putting a new blanket in his space? Loud grunt/honk. Other bunnies may be just as startled as he is with new stimulation- they are prey and that’s normal for them! They won’t have nearly as much to say about it as he does. Infact, sometimes they are also startled by his antics. He’s a very social, sweet bunny, that gets along well with others. We love having him and hope that he will one day find his forever home.

Greater Richmond, Virginia Domestic Rabbit Rescue is here to help! If you’re interested in adopting, fostering, or volunteering in the RVA area, we’d love to hear from you.
We started in the spring of 2023, sparked by a situation we call a “bunny explosion”—when a bunny is misgendered, leading to an unexpected litter. We quickly discovered that these “fluffles” happen all too often. With rabbits able to reproduce as early as 3 months and every 28 days, many new owners are unprepared, especially since many places selling rabbits don’t offer adequate guidance.
After reaching out to shelters and rescues in the area, we found no one had room—or in some cases, didn’t take rabbits at all. So, we stepped up. We created posters, launched social media accounts, and even tried making a Tinder account for the bunnies! Before long, we grew into the organization we are today.
