My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Profile: Riley is now 3 months old. At 8 weeks old he was found snuggled up in basket abandoned on an unsuspecting citizen's doorstep in Shreveport, LA. He was brought to the shelter for care and but needed out. Adoption numbers are low at this shelter, and even puppies are at risk for Euthanasia. he is a terrier-mix and will likely grow quickly into medium size adult dogs.

Foster Update : Meet Riley, the social butterfly of the puppy world! He’s got a heart as big as his shoe obsession (seriously, hide your sneakers). Riley is the ultimate cuddle buddy who firmly believes mornings should start slooowly—no early risers here! He’s a champion of puppy playtime and gets along great with both kids and adults. However, he’s still figuring out proper cat etiquette and needs a feline friend who can teach him some boundaries. Riley occasionally "pancakes" in busy places, which is just his way of saying, "I need a moment." Sweet, silly, and always up for a snuggle, Riley is looking for a family who appreciates his goofy charm and doesn’t mind keeping their footwear on lockdown! Riley would do best in a home with another dog to help show him the way.

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, and microchip with registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.
