Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Zeke is a 12-year-old Maltese poodle cross. He was recently owner surrendered because his "mama" has terminal lung cancer and was given less than 30 days. She adopted him just over a year ago from Companions Animal Center in Hayden, they had brought him up in a mass transport from California. They were not interested in returning him. She writes that he's a great little dog going on 12 years old. He loves all people and gets along great with other animals. He isn't a yapper, and only barks when someone comes to the door and knocks. He isn't a lap dog either. He does not enjoy being picked up or held but he will lay beside you on the couch and snuggle into your leg. He cannot go up or down stairs as he's quite overweight. So you have to pick him up for that, and he does grumble about it but has never tried to bite. He's super pee pad trained and has never lifted his leg in the house. For the last 5 months, he hasn't even been outside because of my illness. Before that, he did love to go on leash walks around the neighborhood. He's used to being fed a solid kibble diet augmented with fruits and veggies, particularly bananas, apples and carrots. He is exhibiting some signs of arthritis, and her vet had advised putting him on a diet and walking him more to help reduce the weight on his joints. He's been kep regularly groomed and was very loved. She's hoping somebody can open their heart and home to him for his final years as she could not make it! 😢
