Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet PIPPA!
This tiny sweetheart is on her way to Colorado, and she’s ready to find a forever family who will cherish her the way she deserves!
At just 5 and a half years old and 8 lbs, Pippa is the perfect little companion. She’s a black and tan cutie with a heart full of love and a personality that shines. She is believed to be a Chihuahua / Papillon mix. Pippa adores people and is happiest when she’s snuggled up with her humans. She’s also lived with other dogs before, making her a great fit for a multi-pup household.
Pippa’s journey hasn’t been easy—she was left in a drop box at a shelter in New Mexico when her family could no longer care for her and her siblings. But despite her rough start, she’s still the sweetest, most loving girl, eager to bring joy to a new home.
She arrives in Colorado on Wednesday, 2/26, and she’s fully vetted, up to date on vaccines, and already spayed—all she’s missing is YOU!
We don't know if Pippa has had any formal training. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young dog whose self-esteem will fly high while she masters her skills. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice.
Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Our training requirement is to help every adoption be successful.
Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.
Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year.
If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ .
**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application, as the application on Petfinder and Adoptapet do not make it back to us with all of the information we need.
