Meet Athens, a 5-year-old Shepherd/Husky mix with a heart as big as her name suggests! This 51.8-pound sweetheart is as laid-back as they come, always happy to meet new friends—both human and canine alike. However, she can be a bit selective on who can be her dog friends. She takes everything in stride and isn’t bothered by much, making her an easygoing companion.
Athens is a quiet, well-mannered girl who does great in her crate and enjoys nothing more than some gentle pets and tasty treats. Whether you’re looking for a cuddle buddy or a relaxed companion for everyday adventures, Athens is ready to be your loyal sidekick. Could she be the one for you?

We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment ONLY. If you are interested in adopting, please contact us via email at jcas@co.johnson.in.us or call 317-738-6090 during regular business hours. We will happily help get an application to you. Once an application is submitted and approved, we can contact you to set an appointment to meet the pet!

Our adoption fee is $150.00 for dogs, $75 for kittens under 6 months of age and $50 for all cats 6 months and older. This will include a rabies vaccination (if age appropriate), spay or neuter, a microchip with registration, and all other age appropriate vaccinations.

We are the all admittance shelter in Johnson County, we are not a 501c3, but a county run facility. We try our best to place each and every animal. We also house all animals picked up by Animal Control therefore; we intake a high volume of animals each year.
