My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sissy and Missy - These two beautiful 9-year-old front-declawed tabby girls have had their lives turned upside down after their beloved owner passed away.

Sissy is the social butterfly of the duo and is adjusting much better to life at the shelter. She loves finding cozy napping spots but will happily come out to say hello and get some much-deserved scritches.

Missy, on the other hand, is having a tougher time adjusting. She is very fearful of her new surroundings and has been seeking solace in hiding spots. We strongly believe that she will thrive in a loving home environment.

It would be amazing if we could find a home for these two girls together. They have been through so much and deserve to find comfort and happiness once again.

The adoption fee is $75 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures.

Please note, we do NOT allow declawing of any cat or kitten that we adopt out, unless deemed medically necessary. We will gladly provide you with alternative methods of managing cats with claws.

We're open from 12-4 PM every day EXCEPT Wednesday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Simply drop by and if you find a potential new furry friend, you can fill out an application on the day you visit. Go to townandcountryanimalrescue.org to fill out our digital application. Applications are typically processed in 3-5 business days.

Once you're approved, you can return on the date and time set up by your adoption counselor, with your family for a meet and greet. If it goes well, you can take your new best friend home on the meet and greet day!

***Please note that animals in foster homes cannot be viewed at our rescue, and appointments are still required to meet them.

Additional adoption info

We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel. If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an inquiry or email to tchspapillion@gmail.com. Someone from the rescue will contact you and/or your family and determine, on a broad level, whether you might be a fit for the animal. If so, they will provide instructions for completing the application. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home. The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster. If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit.

More about this rescue

We are a no kill shelter operating in Sarpy County, Nebraska, a suburb of Omaha. We re-home dogs, cats and small critters. We work with dogs that are typically on "death row" and take in dogs from kill shelters in KS, TX, MO and elsewhere, as needed. Our cats usually come from kill shelters with an occasional owner surrender under special circumstances. Critters are found a variety of ways.

We also provide boarding and grooming services at very reasonable rates.
