Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Winter is a 9 month old Great Pyrenees - part gentle giant, part marshmallow. Her disposition is sweet, smart, and she is a Velcro dog in that she wants to be a part of the family. She will do well in an environment where she will not be left alone all day - she would enjoy being a part of a family with kids, or with someone who works from home. She would do wonderful with another confident and friendly dog. She will not do well left alone for many hours at a time. She is easily trainable and very food motivated, and has some of the sweet stubbornness that is characteristic of pyrs. She is still learning table manners (aka don’t stick your nose on the counter!). She is also definitely still in her adolescence - so she will need someone who is patient and willing to work on her puppy behaviors (redirecting her chewing, continue to teach her to settle, helping her learn which things are her and which are off limits, manners in the kitchen)
She settles well when her needs have been met - a 20/30 minute morning walk or hike, or a play date with another dog plus some training throughout the day will keep her happy. She walks well on leash, and hasn’t shown any reactivity to other dogs or people. No food aggression. She does alert bark (increases at night), which is part of her guardian breed, but it’s definitely manageable. Truly, with the right family, she will continue to blossom into the most stellar dog. 🐶
