My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Handsome Dan

Dan’s adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous donor!

Spunky. Sweet. Adorable. Full of love.
And still waiting for his family.

Handsome Dan is an almost 2-year-old cuddle-loving boy who has spent 1.5 years in rescue—far too long for a dog with so much love to give. Despite the wait, Dan hasn’t lost his joyful spirit or his belief that his people are out there.

Dan is crate trained, potty trained, and absolutely loves meeting new people and pups. He’s the first to greet visitors at his foster home and wants to say hello to everyone he meets on walks. He’s learning polite leash manners (making friends is just so exciting!), and he continues to improve every day.

Dan adores other dogs and plays with his whole heart. Because of his happy, high-energy play style, he’d do best with:
 • a dog who can match his energy, or
 • a home where he can be your one-and-only

He’s also done wonderfully with his foster’s young puppies and, when playtime is over, turns into the ultimate snuggle bug—lounging, cuddling, and soaking up affection.

Dan loves:
Playing in a fenced yard
Going for walks
Car rides and errands with his humans

He’d thrive with an adopter who enjoys being active and spending time together. Because young children can be overstimulating, we think a home with kids ages 10 and up would be the best fit.

✨ Dan truly deserves the best.
He’s a rescue favorite who has blossomed so much over the past year, and now all that’s missing is a family to call his own.

Dan is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. His adoption fee has been fully sponsored by a generous donor in honor of her Fairy Tail Rescue pup’s second birthday

If you think this handsome, smart, cuddly boy could be your perfect sidekick, please complete the adoption application below.
Let’s finally get Dan home.

Additional adoption info

Applications are submitted and reviewed by volunteers. The vet listed as well as personal references are contacted before a home check is scheduled. Once an application is approved, a meet and greet is scheduled to ensure the applicant is a good fit for the pet. As long as everything goes well with the applicant and existing pets during the meet and greet, the applicant may adopt the pet!

More about this rescue

Fairy Tails Rescue, Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit, animal rescue based in Harford County, Maryland. We are dedicated to rescuing homeless, abandoned or unwanted animals in danger of death, abuse or neglect.

We place animals in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process which includes thorough applications/questionnaires/conversations, taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing an animal into their homes and lives.

Animals in our care are spayed/neutered if applicable, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in caring foster homes while they await placement in their forever homes.

Virtually every dollar taken in goes directly to the care of the animals. Our rescue remains interested in and committed to the welfare of the animal beyond the adoption process.

Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations across the country to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless pets.
