My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! My name is Benny, and I’m an adorable, one-of-a-kind pup with a pink nose and almost-invisible spots that make me extra special. I’m about five years old and still learning how to navigate this big world, but my foster home has helped me gain confidence and come out of my shell.

I currently live with another dog my size, and I think I’d really love a forever home with a friendly, playful pup to keep me company. I enjoy long walks with my foster brother (even if he doesn’t always want to play with me) and love playing with all kinds of toys — chew toys, plushies, you name it!

I can be a bit nervous in new situations, so my future family should be aware that I have the potential to be a ‘flight risk.’ My foster mom keeps me safe by crating me when doors are open, making sure I wear a properly fitted harness on walks, and supervising me outside. Because of my shy nature, I’d do best in a home without young kids or with older children who understand my boundaries. A patient family who can help me feel secure — and a playful canine companion — would be ideal for me.

Once I feel comfortable, I’m a total lovebug! I sleep right next to my foster mom at night and adore snuggling up on the couch. I can’t get enough pets, especially when you find the perfect spot behind my ear! I have so much love to give — I just need a little time to feel safe.

I’m making great progress with potty training as long as I stick to a consistent walking schedule. I have plenty of energy, so I really enjoy long walks around the neighborhood and exploring new sights.
