Welcome Daisy V to South Florida Beagle Rescue! She’s a beautiful senior beagle girl who's been given a second chance at life!
Palm Beach County Animal Control reached out to us directly to save Daisy from euthanasia by her previous owner, and we couldn't say no!
We were told the reason the previous owner requested for Daisy to be put to sleep was because she had cancer and she was vomiting and having diarrhea at home. However, she did not have any symptoms at the shelter or at our vet.
Once we get her checked out by our vet, we’ll let you know how she’s doing and whether she will need additional care.
For now, we know that Daisy has lived with dogs of all sizes, including a pit bull, a hound, and a Chihuahua.
In addition to Daisy, SFBR currently has SIX other senior beagles looking for their forever homes. Please help us find them forever homes by sharing our posts. As always, any donations are greatly appreciated.
Let's give Daisy and our other deserving beagles the love and homes they deserve!

Additional adoption info
Beagles make wonderful pets. They are friendly, medium sized, highly social animals. They are considered one of the most family-friendly breeds. Beagles are intelligent but, as a result of being bred for the long chase, are single-minded and determined, which can make them hard to train. They can be difficult to recall once they have picked up a scent, and are easily distracted by smells around them.
Beagles love to play and do require more exercise than some other breeds and in most cases are considered moderate to highly active between puppyhood to about 3 years old. After they turn 3, beagles tend to "mature" and become couch potatoes! Exercise is “key” to having a happy and healthy dog. Keep in mind as beagles get older they tend to gain weight.
