My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I’m Togo!
I’m about 3 years old and in search for my furever family. I may have a slightly intimidating look but trust me, I’m all goofball. Just look at how I’m always sticking my tongue out (classic goofball, right?). I’m always ready for an adventure and love going for walks, runs, hikes, and camping trips. When the adventure is over, I’ll change gears and watch a movie with you or quietly enjoy a chew treat. I love attention, cuddling, or just being close by. Do you work from home? I’ll be your best coworker and will sleep quietly on a dog bed next to your desk (I never interrupt my foster mom’s conference calls!). If you don’t work from home, I’m happy to snooze in my crate all day until you get back. While I am a larger boy for a Siberian Husky, I still think I’m a lap dog if you’ll let me curl up with you. I get along great with other dogs and am friendly with everyone I meet. I can’t wait to meet you!
I am:
  • Crate trained/House trained
  • Dog friendly
  • A good car rider
  • Always happy & playful & goofy
  • Irresistible (if I do say so myself)
  • Able to “sit” on command & learning “down” and “wait”
  • Addicted to whip cream
I am not:
  • Experienced with cats (I don’t live with them and haven’t had any interactions with cats)
  • Exposed to kids (I haven’t lived with any kids, but I’m friendly with the ones I meet on my walks)
  • Trustworthy off-leash (I’m a husky, what do you expect? I need a fence!)

More about this rescue

Mission: To rescue, rehabilitate, and find qualified loving homes for neglected, abused, and unwanted Huskies throughout Texas. To educate the public about responsible pet ownership and the special qualities of the Siberian Husky Breed.

History: Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. was created in May 2009 as a non-profit 501(c)3 animal rescue organization that is run entirely by volunteers and does not have a paid staff or a shelter. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc relies solely on volunteer foster families to take huskies into their homes until permanent, qualified, and loving homes can be found. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is a responsible animal adoption agency and requires that all dogs over 6 months are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We ensure that none of our dogs will ever contribute to the overpopulation of dogs in our community. The work of Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is supported by tax-deductible contributions by individuals, corporations, and grants.
